Airedale Terrier - A Great Family Dog

The Airedale Terrier, sometimes known as Bingley Terrier or Waterland Terrier, is a very fine dog breed originating from the town of the River Aire in the West Riding of Yorkshire. It is traditionally known as the "King of Terriers" owing to its giant size. This stocky dog has wrinkled skin and large pointed ears. Airedales are used for many purposes, including hunting, herding, companion and show dogs. However, they are particularly fond of being groomed, thus making them one of the most popular dog breeds around the world.

Airedale Terrier puppies grow up to be strong, sturdy animals that can excel both as watchdogs and herpetologists. They have the potential to become guard dogs, police dogs, or service dogs. Due to their imposing physique, Airedales are commonly used as guard dogs. A watchful Airedale will surely catch anyone who tries to invade your territory. Airedales protect families from burglars, wild animals, wild creatures (zoo workers, etc.)

The Airedale Terrier's coat is composed of a coarse double-layered coat that is water-resistant, with an undercoat that is weatherproof and curly. This breed shares its physical features with the Miniature Schnauzer (also known as the White German Shepherd) and the White Shepherds of England. The physical features and coloring of an Airedale terrier are wiry, short, and dense, with a silky texture on its double-layered coat.

An Airedale Terrier may vary in color depending on how it was bred. One of its most popular colors is dark grizzle. The dark Grizzle Airedale Terrier has an oily, velvety, and shiny coat. Its hair is silky and smooth and the dog often times has white streaks or tan markings on its body. A dark grizzle Airedale has the capacity to growl and is said to be the most aggressive of all the Airedales.

The Airedale Terrier is native to the state of Oklahoma, but it soon spread across the United States. The dog was first bred there and was able to adapt and survive the harsh winters in the area. However, many Airedales were lost during the war. Airedale terriers were also often used for hunting during the Oklahoma Game and Fish Commission's hunt at the time.

The Airedale terrier is one of four registered breeds in the United States. It has a long and sturdy build. These kinds of breeds are athletic, strong, and independent. Many of these dogs love to be around children and other pets, especially if those pets belong to children who are kind, gentle, and patient with them.
